FEATURED SERVICES
Soft Interventions and Family Support
Interventions come in various forms and are driven by a mission to save lives and provide opportunities for recovery. One New Heartbeat strongly believes that every family and client has a unique experience to share. We understand that the intervention process begins from the very first contact when someone reaches out and asks for help.
In certain cases, taking a family coaching and case management approach can be an initial step toward finding a solution before proceeding with a more traditional intervention. It is crucial to assess each situation or crisis to determine immediate needs and provide appropriate support.
We believe in the importance of collaborative decision-making, ensuring that everyone involved has a voice in the process. To achieve this, we employ assessment tools that enable us to develop a comprehensive family treatment plan. This plan may incorporate various intervention approaches, including the Traditional Johnson Model or the Family Systemic Model. At One New Heartbeat, our utmost commitment is to deliver interventions that are personalized and effective in fostering healing and recovery for individuals and families. We recognize and embrace the uniqueness of each situation, enabling us to tailor our methods and support to best meet the specific needs of those seeking assistance. Through this approach, we strive to empower individuals and families to make informed decisions and embark on a path of positive transformation.
Family Support and Case Management
Case management plays a crucial role in alleviating the emotional pressures faced by families and individuals while fostering healthy relationships during the recovery process.
At One New Heartbeat, our top priority is to provide comprehensive case management and coaching services to individuals and families facing various challenges, including addiction, relationship issues, and mental health challenges. Through our case management, professional and peer services, we strive to create a nurturing and accountable environment that fosters personal growth, healing, and improved relationships.
For individuals grappling with addictions and/or mental health challenges, our case management services ensure that they receive the necessary assistance and resources to navigate their journey toward recovery. We work closely with individuals to develop personalized plans, establish attainable goals, and provide ongoing support to promote their overall wellbeing. Likewise, we recognize the significant impact that addiction or mental health challenges can have on the entire family.
Our case management services extend to families who are navigating the challenges of managing the effects of their loved ones' addictions or mental health conditions on their own personal wellbeing and recovery. We offer guidance, education, and support to empower families in their efforts to provide effective care and establish supportive systems.
Our dedicated team is committed to walking alongside individuals and families, equipping them with the necessary tools and support to navigate the complexities of addiction, mental health, and relationship challenges. At One New Heartbeat, we understand that a one-size-fits-all approach is not effective when it comes to creating a care plan for someone's recovery journey. We collaborate with our partners and leverage our expertise and experience to coordinate and communicate with all parties involved. Our goal is to identify and implement an individualized treatment plan that maximizes the chances of achieving sustainable health and healing. We firmly believe in tailoring the care to the specific needs of our clients. Our approach is adaptive and flexible, ensuring that we address our clients unique needs and advocate for them throughout the case management process. We strive to ensure the highest level of continuity of care, advocating for appropriate levels of support and individualized plans that lead to long-term wellbeing. By embracing individualized care, advocating for our clients, and prioritizing continuity of care, we aim to support individuals and families in their recovery journey, fostering lasting health, healing and growth.
Our Intervention Models
The Family Systemic Model gets its name from its focal point surrounding family involvement. This model sees the family’s involvement as being an integral part of the success of the intervention. The family systemic model is also known as the “invitational” model. One significant difference between the more traditional Johnson Model and the Family Systemic Model is that in this model the person who is the subject of the intervention is seen as the whole family system.
Consequently, the goal of this model is to bring the family together by promoting healthy, open communication between the Identified Person (IP) and their family members. A significant aspect of the family systemic approach lies in the education of the family members on the cycle of addiction and how it impacts the family unit. One aim of this model is to provide the tools required to allow the family to work together, often for the first time in years.
This model is comprised of four components which are that the IP is not left in the dark about any planned meetings, transparency is paramount throughout the entire process, and there is open dialogue between family members and the IP regarding the IP’s behavior and its impact on the wellbeing of the family, and that there will be multiple meetings taking place over a set period of time and that the family as well as the IP will commit to seeking treatment options.
This model identifies the intervention and preparation process into segments: the invitational segment, the educational segment, the offering of treatment options and the interventionist’s inclusion into the treatment dynamic. The rules, or parameters put into place under this model are that the family must come from a place of love, the family needs to see a change from the IP, all relevant family members must be in attendance for the meetings, the family must be willing to offer comfort and safety and the family must, as a whole, mutually respect one another. For more complex cases we provide referrals to CanAm Interventions.
The CAN-AM Model encompasses an unconditionally loving, non-judgmental, and authentic confrontation led by a professional interventionist. During an addiction or complex intervention, friends and relatives come together to perform an act of love. Trained interventionists lead the way, guiding the process with expertise and compassion. Patricia Pike, CEO of CanAm Interventions, leads the way in facilitating services for complex cases. With a wealth of experience in the 12 core functions of counseling and a commitment to evidence-based practices, Patricia ensures that interventions are conducted with professionalism and expertise.
